WiFi Seems Slow

Here are some steps you can try to improve your WiFi speed:

  1. Restart your router and modem: This is a simple but effective first step. Rebooting your network equipment can resolve temporary glitches and also checks if you're accidentally connected to the Guest network (which may have limited speeds).
  2. Check Your Signal Strength: A weak WiFi signal can cause slowness. See if the signal strength bars on your device are low. We may need to add additional Access Points to fill in poorly covered areas.
  3. Identify Bandwidth Hogs: Multiple devices streaming videos, downloading large files, or using video conferencing can slow down your WiFi for everyone. Try to identify and limit these activities if possible.
  4. Reduce Interference: Certain electronics like cordless phones or microwave ovens can interfere with WiFi signals. Try turning them off temporarily to see if it makes a difference.
  5. Update Your Devices: Outdated drivers or software on your devices can sometimes lead to WiFi problems. Make sure your devices have the latest updates installed.

If none of these steps help:

  1. Run a Speed Test: Visit an online speed test website and run a speed test to measure your download and upload speeds.
  2. Create a Service Ticket: Include the results of your speed test in your service ticket.
